Description:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Insulating Systems Business (ISB).  This position supports the business by ensuring reasonable assurance on the accuracy of the plant’s financial analysis and planning function while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities:

1. Month End Closing activities

  • Executing the monthly financial closing process.
  • Understanding and ensuring that finance processes are in compliance with SOX guidelines

2.Reporting and analysis

  • Supports financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Prepares and delivers the plant financial forecasts and projections
  • Communicates results effectively to management and non-financial personnel
  • Provides in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast
  • Educates plant personnel on key performance metrics

3. Improve plant profitability

  • Supports actions in line with achieving targets, mitigating risk and prioritizing resource needs
  • Proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure facility optimal financial results.
  • Provides insightful and competitive analytics that anticipate change and drive decision making

4. Cross-functional leadership and team contribution

  • Work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant objectives
  • Shares best practices, i.e. process improvements, financial modeling and procedural changes
  • Aligns teams and resources in order to solve problems and drive results
  • Provide functional expertise to plant leadership and team members.

5.Support the plant data steward function as the designated back-up to that role

6.Participate in driving safety excellence

Metrics:

  • Timely and accurate Closing process
  • SOX Internal Audit/Management testing results
  • Financial performance vs. Plan
  • Forecast accuracy and timeliness
  • Balance Sheet Integrity
  • Key performance indicators 

Knowledge & Skills:

Required

  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years experience in financial planning and analysis in a manufacturing operation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing costing principles
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and decision making through analytics and data
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Computer skills – strong Microsoft Excel user
  • Understanding of and ability to work within SOX control environment
  • Must be willing to relocate from DFW area and acknowledge such upon hiring

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of SAP
