PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Price Analyst in the Building Materials Group Pricing Organization is the subject matter expert responsible for delivering on analysis and price execution. The successful candidate is responsible for providing analytical support to the commercial organization for operational price moves. This position works closely with the finance, marketing and sales organizations to produce competitive intelligence and detailed customer analysis that support pricing decisions. The Analyst will work to help ensure the accurate entry and maintenance of price and  rebate records.

Reports to:  Pricing Operations Team Leader

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage service for our Customers 

  • Partners with the commercial organization to build customer loyalty and success through flawless pricing execution from order to invoice
    • Ensures accuracy in financials of customer rebates and price attainment that is executed by SAR turn-around time and accuracy
    • Customer Program loading and accuracy
  • Supports root cause analysis and leads corrective action initiatives to eliminate CPVs, Credits/ Debits, and Bill Blocks
  • Metrics include:  Invoice Accuracy, SAR Cycle Time, Pricing Defects, Bill Block Prevention /Reduction, Rebate Cycle Time

Grow financial value 

  • Ensures quality analytics are performed on SAR’s
  • Analyzes and communicates the impact of potential pricing moves
    • Gross Margin/Contribution Margin/Net Price Changes
    • Market Pricing information
  • Executes pricing strategy and decisions, and provides day-to-day guidance to sales force in order to meet pricing objectives
    • Apply price within SAP
    • Market Low information (where are customers transacting)
  • Works with business to develop customer profitability reports as needed
  • Creates transparency through accurate price execution that enables successful and timely reporting of BMG financials
  • Completes proactive analysis of pricing related reporting
  • Metrics include:  Quality Assurance Audit, Elimination of Controls Learning Opportunities

Operate in a Financial Control Environment 

  • Ensures proper compliance of sales order to cash cycle requirements (SOX)
  • Identifies deficiencies and opportunities in current processes and initiates resolutions across a variety of resources (people, process and technology) to enable process improvements
  • Ensures all closing activities are completed within required timeframe
  • Ensures pricing decisions are within stated levels of authority
  • Metrics include:  Execution in a controlled environment

Operate in a waste free environment 

  • Effectively uses Lean Sigma methodology and tools to support a waste free environment
  • Identifies and takes action to eliminate non-value added activities within day to day operations
  • Ensures that standard work processes are followed and updated as changes are made
  • Metrics include:  Execution of Skill Optimization Strategy

Safety 

  • Operates in a manner that promotes safe operations for ourselves, customers and vendors
  • Actively participates in ongoing safety monitoring, training and discussions
  • Embraces Owens Corning safety standards

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree required

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 – 5 yrs finance, accounting, or related experience preferred
  • Applying analytics to make decisions
  • Demonstrated advanced capability with Excel, Access, BW, SAP, and BI preferred
  • Multi-tasking coupled with strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Supply chain knowledge
  • Six Sigma/Lean expertise preferred
