The Financial Benefits Leader ensures that these programs are competitively designed, holistically governed, accurately administered, and effectively communicated. This role serves as the internal expert on global financial benefit plan provisions and leverages participant and plan data as well as external benchmarking to deliver insights on the financial health of our employees.

Reports to: Director, Global Benefits

Span of Control: 1-2 direct reports


Financial Benefits Program Management, Reporting & Analytics

  • Scan the external market trends and actively benchmark our plans
  • Leverage participant data to gain insights on behaviors and education opportunities
  • Recommend program changes based on benchmarking, feedback, and analytics
  • Partner with finance to anticipate impact of program or demographic changes
  • Serve as subject matter expert on financial benefits during M&A activities

Vendor Management & Administration

  • Actively manage USbased third party relationships, including actuarial and recordkeeping
  • Lead RFPs and benchmarking to ensure third party fees are competitive
  • Partner with HRIS and payroll to enable efficient and accurate administration

Governance and Compliance

  • Manage all required audits, filings and notices for US retirement plans
  • Maintain US plan documents and SPDs; work with ERISA counsel to draft amendments
  • Oversee 401(k) investments as a member of the Investment Review 401(k) Subcommittee
  • Monitor Canada and UK investments and administration via governance committees
  • Keep global plan inventory current through frequent connection with country plan owners
  • Partner with global counterparts to ensure governance and compliance is maintained globally; lead Pension Governance Committee

  • Leverage workshops, tools and resources available through our external partners
  • Deliver relevant and high quality employee education on program optimization

Talent Development

  • Engage in active performance management and development with direct reports
  • Educate and develop crossfunctional peers on program design and operations


  • 7 years progressive experience in employee benefits consulting or internal management of retirement benefits programs
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10-15% travel; must be able to travel internationally


  • Leadership of administrative and analyst-level staff
  • Governance and management of US defined benefit and defined contribution plans
  • Management of outsourced administration service providers and other external parties
  • Analysis and forecasting of benefit plan data and financials
  • Familiarity with non-US retirement plans, specifically UK and Canada
  • Union negotiation support
  • Actuarial or benefit audit experience a plus
  • Accountability for job responsibilities listed above


  • Self-starter who takes ownership and shows commitment to the job
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent technical skills in retirement plan design and compliance; working knowledge of ERISA and related laws and regulations, actuarial background a plus
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and good judgement
  • Demonstrated analytical and communication/presentation capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Strong time management, planning and project management skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with the Total Rewards team, HR business partners, cross-functional teams, and external vendors
