Job Title: Warehouse Equipment Operator

Department: Warehouse

Reports to: Warehouse Leader

Supervises: None

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt



The Warehouse Equipment Operator (WEO) works as a team member and performs any duty related to load, unload, and transport finished goods and in-process products to and from warehouse and Production line. Unloads, receives, transports and stores materials, verifies shipments against orders, operates recording equipment, utilizes SAP, provides lift truck support throughout the plant supplies and equipment in receiving sections, storeroom or warehouse locations as directed. Prepares truck loads of finished goods for shipment. Takes inventory of Raw materials as well as Finished Goods. Performs general housekeeping and participates in downtime cleaning activities, etc. At the same time, will be trained and required to assist other plants areas when is needed.


  • Performs all functions of the job with specific attention to safe behaviors, environmental stewardship, and housekeeping duties and reports all nonconformities to management.

  • Responsibilities include

    1. Primary Process Responsibilities

      1. Read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures [SOPs]

      2. Responsible/accountable for the safe operation of a forklift for the purposes of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and inventorying of material

      3. Complete a forklift inspection at the beginning of each shift and turn in paperwork to warehouse office

      4. Receive all shuttles that come from the outside warehouse and store in the precursor, wet chop, or Slitter area

      5. Move all material to the HOLD/REWORK area as needed and place all material needing to be re-wrapped in the WRAP area

      6. Unload any returns that come back to the plant and ensure Warehouse or Team Leadreceives paperwork

      7. Inspect trailers and complete trailer inspection sheets for every load

      8. Clean and sweep trailers as needed to ensure product is not damaged when loaded for shipping or in transit

      9. Cycle count all finished goods and WIP

      10. Consolidate like material as needed to

      11. Check Warehouse equipment is properly charged and ready to be used each day.

      12. Use SAP as needed

      13. Responsible for unloading shipments safely

      14. Responsible for pulling/preparing customer orders with 100% accuracy for quantity and type of product

      15. Performs picking duties in an efficient and safe manner that meets or exceeds customer service standards

    2. Primary Safety Responsibilities

      1. Follow all safety rules and procedures for the plant

      2. Follow all lockout procedures

      3. Follow all safety signs and documentation

      4. Follow all safety rules and procedures concerning the handling of all chemicals within the area of their responsibility

      5. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] at all times

    3. Demonstrate group effort by working cooperatively with shift members

      1. Minimize process downtime

      2. Participate on continuous improvement work groups

      3. Support trials

      4. Use general tools (not requiring specialized training) as needed to perform the job

      5. Help identify process problems and seek solutions

    4. Maintain Communication

      1. Sustain effective communication

      2. Maintain logs as required

      3. Assist in resolving supplier and customer complaints by providing relevant information

      4. Participate in shift huddles and meetings as required

    5. Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of job as directed by management


The employee should hold the following abilities:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions

  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills

  • Must have the ability to multi-task

  • Must have strong internal and external customer service skills

  • Must work well in a team environment

  • Must have the ability to do basic mathematical calculations

  • Must have prior forklift experience

  • Previous warehouse experience preferred


The employee must be able to:

  • Use basic computer functions

    1. Log into company computer systems

    2. Check E-mail

    3. Create and reply to E-mails

    4. Type accurately


The employee should have the following:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required


The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Pass drug screen prior to employment

  • Acceptable background check

  • Pass pre-employment physical
