The Inventory Process Leader has responsibility for the daily management of plant inventory in adherence with established controls and policies.  In addition to inventory management the position will be accountable for leading the shipping and receiving area of the facility with direct supervision of four primary employees. The position reports to the plant controller.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination, execution, and reconciliation of monthly physical inventory and ensuring the completion of all necessary reporting
  • Reconciliation of shipments and receipts
  • Effective partnership with plant production and operations
  • Leads process improvement for all areas of accountability
  • Strong emphasis on leading and developing talent and ability to effectively delegate key business activities
  • Anticipates supply risks and develops contingency options
  • Develops short-term scenario models and analysis to support business planning and mitigate risks
  • Prepares and/or oversees special shipments to vendors and document preparation of export shipments
  • Collaborates with global supply chain leader to ensure supply plans align to global business demands
  • Monitors and reports on alloy pool quality and the process to remove out of spec metal or bring to compliance
  • Work with operations to identify deficiencies and train operators on production floor as needed to obtain transactional precision
  • Reviews, manages, and resolves daily metal issues on the production floor
  • Control point for acceptance and release of all alloy orders for both internal and external customers
  • Provide plant analytics as needed

Job Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated work experience and proven leadership in operations, materials management, supply chain, sourcing, or related field
  • Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor
  • Undergraduate degree required, accounting or supply chain management preferred
  • Graduate degree a plus
  • Previous experience in inventory management/control in manufacturing environment a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Excel preferred
  • SAP/BI experience a plus
